Session 0: Pre-Session Bonus: Laying the Groundwork for AI in Church Operations
A bonus session added to account for a schedule shift, we discuss the groundwork for the course, lead people through the sign-up process for Large Language Models (LLM’s) and share information on a few different platforms as well as some demonstration on the capabilities of AI LLM technology. Presented by Blake Davis, AI Lead and Executive Director of Marketing and Delivery (Communications) for Discipleship Ministries.

SESSION 1: INTRODUCTION TO AI AND ITS APPLICATIONS IN CHURCH OPERATIONS
Discover the basics of AI and learn how these tools can optimize your church operations presented by Rev. James Lee, Creator, Technologist, and Director of Communications for the Eastern Pennsylvania and Greater New Jersey Conferences. In this session we lead you through:

  • A history of AI technology
  • The challenges and limitations of these technologies
  • Practical ways AI can be integrated into your church’s daily operations
  • Discussions about the ethical considerations of AI in a church setting

SESSION 2: IMPLEMENTING AI FOR ENHANCED PRODUCTIVITY
Building on the first session, Session 2 discusses the trends we’re seeing as well as some theological and biblical perspectives on this new and emerging technology led by Rev. Scott Hughes, Associate General Secretary of Discipleship Ministries.
The second half of the session gives pre-made prompting outlines for you to keep (link included with the recordings) and walks users through how to utilize prompting for more advanced results, led by Blake Davis.
